Strings Of My Soul A full guitar-only song from "The 7th Blues", originally written in 1993 for his solo corner in livegyms. Everytime I listen to this song, I must hit repeat at least once. Every single note is full with anguish and pain. He literally makes the guitar and ME cry. |

Arakure To complement a great song, a great solo is needed, and that's just what Tak plays with his mad-skill here, lightning-fast melodies right to the higher notes just before Koshi comes back. |

Mabushii Sign More to the upbeat and cutesy side of B'z, this song has an unexpectedly great melodious solo. The best way to describe it probably is like a steady but big generous gush of water in a very hot day. Very satisfying and sensible. |
02:30
Wake Up, Right Now Some kawaii-sounding "nanananana" right before the light-hearted, fast and happy harmonized guitar solo. Just what doctor Tak prescribes for B'z fans who are feeling tired and lazy =p |
02:19
Samayoeru Aoi Dangan The very first one that opened my ears to what is called a fantastic guitar solo. Notice how Koshi always closes his eyes and plays air guitar when Tak's playing this one! =p |
02:23
Akai Kawa The ending solo. I always wonder, after all those gorgeous melodies, how did he find in him some more heart-wrenching notes to add into the song? No doubt that Tak is a genious! |
05:37
Ultra Soul Original style. Only 15 sec, so like expresso, it's short, intense and full of flavour. I was told that it's a harmony solo. |
01:57
Itoshii Hito Yo, Goodnight... I always love this solo. It's actually rather heavy for such mellow song but it fits right in. |
03:33
Baby Moon One of his soothing, comforting solos. The same style can be found in Shower, JOY and Tokyo. Although for Tokyo, it's in a rather sadder tone. |
02:16
MOTEL This is one of those songs which I feel that the solo really blends into the song. After Koshi belting out "I close my door!", Tak builds up the atmosphere with more sadness until Koshi comes back. |
02:09
Atsuki Kodou No Hate Fast and furious. Rich and creamy. Very satisfying. It's Tak all the way! |
02:36
Love Is Dead With the horns clearing away, Tak begins with a complex solo that has a jazzy head, then he rips it apart heavy-metal style. This is one of his longer solos, clocking in at 40 sec. |
04:07
Real Thing Shakes It's sexy with caps! Very very *S E X Y* solo |
02:18
Itsuka No Merry Christmas Another ending solo. As if the whole song, vocal and lyrics are not heart-breaking enough, with backing vocals as support, Tak strummed in some beautiful acoustic for good measure, creating that cold, sad wintery effect. |
TIME As soon as Koshi sings the last word, "...mune ga itamu dake~", Tak begins a weeping ending solo that is not unlike String Of My Soul in its capability to touch one's heart. |
02:33
Nagareyuku Hibi 1 minute and 8 seconds, it's probably his longest solo in all B'z songs. Well, this solo takes you on a journey everywhere before bringing it home with a grandiose style to the beginning riff. |
03:12
Spirit Loose Tak goes mad the whole song and so does Koshi. |

Kimi Wo Tsurete One of those rare solos that goes on and on! It ends with piano playing gently. |
03:17
Don't Leave Me Fans don't dub this song B'z black era for nothing. The solo takes the stand with some painful screams of its own. |
02:38
Love Me, I Love You The feeling is like doing slow dance, revolving around and around, suddenly the music became faster and they all start to boogie. |
02:02
Suna No Hanabira The whole song is a piece of art. This solo simply completes it. |
02:11
Sasanqua - Fuyuu No Yuu Another guitar-only B'z song. Included in the mini-album "Friends 2", as a guitar-lover fan told me, it's beautiful. I don't know why, but this song reminds me a lot of Gekkou. There are traces of similiar notes. |

GEKKOU Speaking of Gekkou! Holy heii, that dramatic solo is even better accoustic! Watch Tak strumming it beautifully in B'z 1993's video "Live Ripper". And as always Tak's ending solo doesn't disappoint, keep an ear at 4:31. |
02:38
Taiyou No Komachi Angel Another absolutely crushing acoustic solo to watch during live. Koshi went along with the fun in B'z 1995 video "Buzz". |
02:44
CALLING Every and each mad playing after "kono koe ga kikoerukai" and "wow wow wow". Oh yes!! |
-
Idomeyo Hakanai Kono Toki Ni Again, it's short but full of lovely inspiring melodies. |
02:15
Don't Ask Me, Baby Some of Tak's best blues playing is spread throughout the whole song. And where did he get the inspiration if not from guitar-master Eric Clapton himself? Tak adores Eric and frequently boasts about his concerts like a rabid fangril. He even tried to drag Koshi along (^__^;) Btw, this song was played solely for live, it was never released, instead Tak modified it into what we know these days as "The Changing". |

Koi Uta / HANA I tend to like HANA's solo better. But in these two songs, the way he marries electric guitar and er-hu is just simply amazing that the two instruments, modern and ancient blend together in unbelievable harmony. |

Midosuji Blue This is one of my favorite Tak's guitar solo out of all his works, especially the extravaganza that begins at 02:02. But I was informed that this is a ripoff from Steve Vai's work (^^;) |
02:02
#1090 - Thousand Dreams One of his earlier solo works. In this song, his improvisation is so rich with variation and creativity. Every note is important, no senseless jamming anywhere. I especially like the playing that begins at 02:29 |
02:29

Since I know nothing about guitar, I'm really not qualified
to rate Tak's guitar playing in any way. The solos above are perhaps not
fantastic solos technically for guitar players, but they are the solos
that touch my heart and something which I always wait breathlessly when
I listen to the songs.
