Note: Icarus is a figure from Greek Mythology that attempted to escape from Crete with his father, Daedalus, who constructed wings for them with feathers which were held together with wax. Although Daedalus cautioned his son not to fly too close to the sun, as it would melt the wax (and thus his wings), Icarus was overtaken by the thrill of flying. Soon he had risen up too close to the sun his wings melted and he fell to his death in the sea.
