GOLD Review by --- Southern City Post |
"ULTRA SOUL" the single which was released by Japanese Rock-band B'z on March 14, 2001 did not only break their previous record, it has also prolonged it as their 27th consecutive No. 1 single. At the same time, "B'z THE BEST PLEASURE", the best compilation album which was released on their 10th year in the music business, also broke the all-time best-seller record as it sold more than 10 millions copies in a mere one year time.
B'z latest No.1 single "GOLD" is a song with beautiful descriptive lyrics that touches one's heart deeply right from the start. These strong meaningful words, sung by Koshi Inaba's mature, grown-up voice, accompanied by immaculate guitar playing by Tak Matsumoto that is gentle and strong in all the right moments, this song paints a vivid image of the summer's gala event's atmosphere.
Following "ULTRA SOUL", "GOLD" is also immediately chosen to be the official theme song for the 2001 International Swimming Tournament soon to be held in Fukuoka. As the song will be used to cheer and give courage to the competing athletes, the impression of support and hope for tomorrow can be strongly felt in the light pace and melody. Furthermore, the lyrics, written fully in Japanese, also send the truest and the most direct message to the athletes.
Last but not the least, this single also includes a special edition of the
hugely popular single "ULTRA SOUL" which is named "ULTRA SOUL
- Splash Style".
