100,000 RED-JACKET OF BEST BALLADS (20/12)
B'z released 100,000 copies of red-jacket limited edition of the
Best Ballad on December 20, 2002.
2000 B'z FANS GATHERED TO WATCH VIDEO
CLIP IN GINZA (7/12)
Yamano CD store in Ginza, Tokyo, one of the 4000 store that played
B'z new video clip "Itsuka~", was completely swamped
out with B'z fans, when about 2000 of them
|
gathered at the same time in this store to watch the pv. This created
quite a troublesome mess because it was raining the whole time and the
shopping complex and traffic area got very congested. This particular
store was gonna play the clip for 15 minutes starting from 5pm on 200"
screen. But somehow they changed to a 100" one and played it until
the store closed at 8pm. According to reporters, the excited sighs of
fans could be heard everywhere within the store when Tak and Kosh's images
flashed on the screen =p

B'z CHRISTMAS TREES AND TEDDY BEARS IN TOKYO
DOME (1/12 - 31/12)
As part of The Best Ballad album promotion, B'z X'mas Trees will be
displayed in Tokyo Dome City. It will be the warmest message from B'z
to fans. There'll also be 6 pairs of 1.6m teddy bears along with the
trees.
Venue: Tokyo Dome City (fountain) inside the Hotel
Opening time: Dec 1, 4pm to Dec 31
Size: 3 metres tall
Quantity: 12 trees
B'z VIDEO CLIP IN 4000 CD STORES NATION-WIDE

For the new "Itsuka~" PV, clips from previous videos were
edited into 5 minutes length and will be shown in 4000 cd stores in
Japan. The event will start from 5 pm on December 7, 2002. Some Santa
Clause with cameras will also be in some major cd shops to take fans'
hot messages to B'z as the messages definitely reach to both Tak and
Koshi.

Just like the cover is hinting, this one comes in a exclusive and
pretty set-box. This best ballads collection will draw an end to
B'z activities in year 2002. Earlier in February, it was two solo
albums for Tak Matsumoto, in July a maxi-album "GREEN"
for B'z and the latest was a solo album for Koshi Inaba. There's
also the anticipated release in November of "A Beautiful Reel",
the video-documentary of this year's concerts. |
B'z has so many popular songs, not only in the albums, but also in the
mini-album series of "Friends", so it's not surprising that
many fans have high expectation on this ballad collection. Opening with
"Itsuka No Merry Christmas", it also includes songs which fans
have been waiting for anxiously like "GOLD", "HOME"
and "ONE"! Furthermore, besides these songs, it also includes
hit singles like "Alone", "Konya Tsuki No Mieru Oka Ni"
and coupling songs like "TIME" and "Mou Ichido Kiss Shitakatta".

B'z LIVEGYM GREEN VIDEO TITLE DECIDED "A
BEAUTIFUL REEL"

HMV's review:
This is B'z 7th video and 5th dvd. It's been 2 years and 3 months since
their last video release "Once Upon A Time In Yokohama".
B'z annual gigantic scale live-tour wrapped its end in Yokohama stadium
just two months ago. Livegym GREEN ~ "Go* Fight* Win" this
year were mostly performed in dome or arena-scale venues and were watched
by 700,000 fans. The decision to capture this huge event into an image
package was decided pretty quick! It will show the miraculous impact
when the amazing sound created by Koshi Inaba and Tak Matsumoto with
the help of supporting members of the band, is mixed with the overwhelming
quality of various CG special effect. Opening with their always highly-entertaining
stage, B'z performed 7 songs from the latest single and album "Green".
There are also "Taiyou No Komachi Angel" which has not made
it into any live video since 9 years ago, 1993. Standard livegym songs
like "Koi Gokoro" and "Hadashi No Megami" are done
accoustic-live version this time. Definitely an ultimate viewing and
listening pleasure!
Included in DVD vers is the 2nd disc (approx. 30 min length):
Footage from B'z first USA live-concerts, B'z LiveGym 2002 "Rock'n
California Roll" in L.A., on September 24. Also from their live-gig
in Hibiyaon, B'z LiveGym 2002 "Rock'n California Roll" in
Tokyo, on October 5.

#1 IN ORICON (09/10)

Various Japan and Taiwan newspapers' reports:
B'z vocalist, Koshi Inaba's 2nd album debut at no.1 in Oricon chart.
Just like his first album from 5 years back "Magma", this
album also has no pre-release single and does not have any tie-up to
advertisement media or tv-program, but still surprisingly debut at 1st
place. This is a record that noone has ever done before in Oricon chart
history. Sales for first week was 340,110 copies.

KOSHI INABA'S NEW SOLO ALBUM "SHIAN"

HMV's review:
It has been 5 years since "MAGMA" was released, Koshi
Inaba's 2nd solo album is decided for release on October 9! The
title is "SHIAN", a name inspired by his own private studio.
Taking "MAGMA" into a further step, Koshi Inaba not only
produced and wrote all music and lyrics for "SHIAN", he
also played all the musical instruments (besides of course performing
as vocal) except for guitar in track 3 and 10. |
"O.NO.RE" is a frank and direct number, a song with resounding
words, riding merrily with the melody, while "Love Letter" is
a heart-felt ballad. His unique ability and freedom in playing around
with words and expressing them with his vocal style is above the limitation
of blues, rock or pop genre. This is yet another number that brings out
the charm of B'z vocalist Inaba to the fullest!Songs list:
