the single sale for any artist is indeed low nowadays, with some exceptions like smap's 'sekai~' (not only that it's an anti-war song, i think its success is also due to its high media traffic. when i was in tokyo, i heard it on tv every nite -_- ) despite the low figure, BANZAI is still #1 on the world chart ^0^ omedetou! no promotion, no tv appearance, no limited edition, no bonus extras, yeah!

Since 2002's Atsuki Kodo~, it is their 4th single in a row that has of songs. This song has a lot of energy even though i still don't understand what the hell in going on in the PV. The interlude reminds me of x-japan's prologue from blue blood. Magnolia reminds me of one of their own songs which i can't pinpoint. the guitar on banzai sounds more mid-rangy which sounds cool. there are couple of Tak news on Gibson japan sites (www.gibson.jp), his new DC model will be on display at tokyo guitar show and TMG news conference. I wonder how much the new model will go for? it'll still sell like hotcakes i bet...

Just got my hands on this week's CDTV countdown episode:
TMG - Oh Japan Our time is now at #39
(The PV clip they showed was way different from the one I have. It actually had the rest of TMG in it as opposed to just Tak & the Japanese lady.)

In the "I wanna be in their group at least once" count down:
#9 was B'z (showed Banzai PV) and they had fan messages that said:
23 year old male "I wanna learn Tak's guitar technique"
21 year old female "The two of them seem so cool and fun and I wonder what they talk about"
22 year old female "If I was on tour with them I'd be able to go to different countries."
#1 on that list was Porno Graffity o_o;;

And as far as the count down Utada's new single got #1..I dont understand why isn't it Banzai ;____;~~

B'z didn't promote their single on music station but it was mentioned #1 during their "top singles" countdown so I think that's a way of promotion as it is. I got a screencappy (from last week's MS). And oh yea Tamori's harassment of all the other guests is amusing but I always felt like he harasses KOshi more...or maybe it's just the way poor Koko reacts to it lol.

And aw you don't like Magnolia? Oh well you said you didn't like Idomeyo right away but I loved that song the first time I heard it lol.

Just gonna add that in Magnolia Tak's guitar solo is very nice. Koshi's voice is very nasal, a bit like Green/Shian days. I prefer 7th Blues, LOOSE, Big Machine days when his voice is rounder and less piercing.
I'm quite surprised to hear it back because BANZAI doesn't have this problem. Just another indication that B'z probably have always had these songs, ready to be released. You're right, Tamashii, Magnolia (especially the quiet whispering bridge) reminds me of Yoruyo~ too. Hence it's totally possible that they recorded it back around Atsuki~ days. Heiiii, we'll just have to read be-with to know for sure, right?

The music industry is really suffering ne. I guess it'd be really hard to achieve millions for singles nowadays. I don't know how SMAP did it with "Sekai~" As usual B'z probably didn't promote "Banzai" that much, not even Music Station this year. That kind of figure is really low. I believe even Typhoon dvd sold more -__-;;

Well, I've heard "Magnolia" and I'm surprised to find myself not too crazy about it (what a rare thing!) The verses are nice but the chorus is repetitive and I was holding my breath to see if there's anything satisfying to end it, but it never came. I've listened about 10x since yesterday. Anyway maybe I'll change my mind. I didn't like Idomeyo~ so much either, but later I fell in love with it! See what happens. "Banzai" still rocks and gets better with every listen! Really likes Tak's guitar during pre-chorus ^0^

I've had this in mind for quite a long time. I think in B'z previous works like releases or even lives, there were always things to give us hints on what's coming next. For examples:
1. in ABR, before intro of Samayoeru Aoi Dangan, there's a robotic Koshi's voice that said "It's Showtime". "It's Showtime" the single was released March 2003.
2. ABR's infamous stage design included huge robots, in other words "BIG MACHINE", and we know the album was released the next year.
3. B'z 2003 US tour was named "BANZAI in N.A." and "Banzai" was just released this month. In this case, maybe it's not too related, but during Typhoon or even US live's Taiyou no Komachi Angel, Koshi taught the audience the 3-3-7 clap that is the rhythm of Banzai's rap. Maybe he wanted to make sure that the fans learn it well before a live performance of Banzai =p

Heheheheh, or am I thinking too much? ^______^; I thought of other hints too but now I've forgotten them. Maybe some things in "Big Machine" lives would be a hint of what's coming next for us ne.

oh, I downloaded a 229MB torrent video for "BANZAI" a few days ago. The quality is outrageous. A great PV, fits the awesome song. i juz got my order today T.T i guess cdjapan inputted the status as 'shipped' b4 they went for their GW holidays >_< urrggghhh! make me wait for so long! but i'm very please with what b'z came out this time ;) 'magnolia' is great!! the chorus reminds me of 'out of control', while the opening reminds me of 'yoruyo akenaide' :p not similar in terms of the melody but the mood... hmmm... 'yoruyo~' opening sounds like songs in period drama (to me) :p and how the verses go... ehh, i dunno how to say in music terms >.< love both song! but i do think they made the right decision at putting 'banzai' as the 1st beat =)

ACtually "cchi" is just a suffix that they use in Japan for close friends. (I learned this from reading Gals manga lol.) Hence the "Inabacchi". NOthing to do with deep meaning or anything. Just as if you called him "Inabachan" or "Inabakun" or something (lol Inabachan sounds too cute. XD)

Thank so much Mai! Can anyone figure out what's going on the pv? What I see: The guard is chasing the punk, who stole a pair of shoes. The OL with glasses is trying to find this 70% off sale. The punk's girlfriend finds him at the sale, and dumps him with a punch. But I can't figure out what/how/why/ the guy in the store should end up at that spot too. I wish Tak had played one of the characters.

Mr. Polka Dots Live looks fantastic and I love his current hair color. :D Dino is right; that is the Loose era B'z logo! And Tak guitaring in a train reminds me of Film Risky.

Hi Maria, I think what you have is the Koshi NHK special from when he released Shian in 2003. Lots of interviews and some fantastic live performances. My favorite is Love Letter. ^^

Irene you might be missing a codec...particulary DIVX5.x so I suggest www.divx.com grabbing it. That's most likely the problem.

..On the note of videos...has anyone heard of a Solo Documentary on Koshi? I just downloaded it..gonna watch it in a bit..wonder what it's about :D

Rumor: TMG's album title "TMG 1", one of the song is called "Everything Passes Away" o___0 What a title!

After TMG's concerts' tickets sold out like hot cakes, now the Japanese B'z fans are sweating over Koshi's tickets. I think it's really amazing how B'z fans in the Fan Club must apply to get tickets first. If they are lucky enough to be selected to attend a certain concert, then they can go ahead to purchase the tickets. It must be quite impossible for fans outside FC to get tickets at all. Thank goodness for US concerts, I guess!

I dunno what could be your problem with Yahoo briefcase. ID: inaba_amuro p/w: bz17854, click on B'z files and then save as. Maybe someone else is dwnl-ing when you tried to log in. Ok, pplz don't forget to log out once you finish ne! It's still Tamashii's account ^^ Anyway my main problem is I can't play it even after I dwnl 2x! I guess I'll just wait for another version then =p

Banzai PV making I think I found can be downloaded from http://www.mu-ha.com/meza/normal_040430_01/index.html but you need real player to play because its a .ram file..gonna have to install the good olf RP8 tomorrow ..

still don't work for me. The file extension is swf in your briefcase, Tamashii? That's flash file and when I opened with Media Player nothing happens.

excellent, WMP works! this PV definitely has a different feel from any other B'z PV (and you'll know exactly what I mean when you see it). kind of a familiar concept otherwise, but it's at least a little more interesting with this new angle. Koshi, Tak...you guys are lookin GOOD! there, I said it. and the song itself continues to please.
